Chicago Fire FC played to a 1-1 draw against CF Montréal on Saturday night at Soldier Field, extending their unbeaten streak to five matches. The Fire, with a record of 3-1-2 and 11 points, took the lead in the 40th minute when winger Philip Zinckernagel scored his second goal in as many games. The goal came after a well-timed assist from Jonathan Bamba and Andrew Gutman, with Zinckernagel finishing from close range at the top of the six-yard box.
The Fire carried a 1-0 advantage into halftime, but the second half saw CF Montréal quickly respond. Just five minutes after the restart, Dante Sealy leveled the match with a precise volley, assisted by Luca Petrasso. This marked the first goal for Montréal since the opening match of the season. Despite a few dangerous opportunities for Montréal, the Fire’s defense remained resilient, ensuring the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
