The game’s momentum shifted significantly in the 36th minute when Chicago’s starting goalkeeper, Chris Brady, received a red card. Jeff Gal entered the game shortly after in the 40th minute and managed to hold the line with one save, as Chicago’s defense held strong despite playing with only 10 men. Orlando applied pressure, but the Fire’s backline successfully resisted the visitors’ attacks through the remainder of the first half.

In the second half, Orlando dominated possession and pushed hard for a breakthrough goal. Chicago, meanwhile, looked for opportunities to strike on the counterattack. One of their best chances came in the 68th minute when Philip Zinckernagel’s powerful shot from distance forced a tough save from Orlando’s goalkeeper Pedro Gallese. Hugo Cuypers almost capitalized on the rebound, but Gallese once again denied the effort, preserving his fifth consecutive clean sheet.
