Chicago Stars end the first weekend of October with a Home lost against Denver Summit Fc

Chicago Stars FC suffered a 3-0 defeat to Denver Summit FC on Sunday evening at Martin Stadium, as the visitors secured a convincing road victory. Denver took control early, with Janine Sonis opening the scoring in the eighth minute before Lindsey Heaps doubled the advantage in the 26th minute.

The Summit continued to dictate play after halftime and added a third goal through Heaps in the 76th minute, completing her brace. Denver finished with more than 60% possession and held a 17-10 advantage in shots, while Chicago goalkeeper Katie Atkinson made three saves to keep the score from growing further.

Despite the result, Chicago showed some defensive resilience, winning 85% of its tackles, with Michelle Alozie winning all five of her challenges. The Stars will look to regroup and respond in their next home match against Seattle Reign FC on October 18.
